Inglot Cosmetics – Review

Here’s a review of my first Inglot Cosmetics products! I’d heard a lot about the brand before, but knew there wasn’t a store in Austria, so when they opened a store in Mall of Scandinavia (Stockholm) I got so excited. The brand is very affordable but professional. It reminds me a lot of KIKO in a way; great products to an affordable price.

The palette:
Inglot
have the Freedom System which gives you the opportunity to create your own palettes with everything from base products to lipsticks. I decided to only make one with eyeshadows, even though I was really interested in the lipsticks! To have your own lipstick palette would be great for photoshoots and so on, though not so practical for me private when you need the whole palette in the purse. You can also choose from a lot of different sized palettes. I decided one with place for 4 eyeshadows since I’m always on the hunt for the perfect palette for my travel makeup bag. The most important for me was to get colours that look good on me and that I can use for other things in the face as well. I got nr. 395 which is a shimmery cream white to highlight both on the eyes and face. Then I got a matte neutral/cool-toned light brown, nr. 357, which I put in the crease of the eye and use for contouring. It’s the perfect contour shade for lighter skin! For a natural look I can also use it for my brows. My third and last shade is nr. 329, a dark brown that I use to deepen the look up in the outer corner of the eye, smudged on the lash line or wet as an eyeliner. I still have room for one more eyeshadow but when I was there last time I just couldn’t decide which colour would complete the palette so I left it empty until I knew what I needed. I’ll probably get a shimmery mid-toned beige, gold or light brown to use as a lid colour.

The lipstick:
I didn’t get a lipstick to my palette but of course I got a lipstick! This is their HD Lip Tint Matte in nr. 16. I got it in a neutral rose colour, a little bit more pink than my natural lip colour. In my pictures it looks more brown than it actually is – in reality it’s more “lip colour”.

Application and longevity:
I like the eyeshadows. They’re very pigmented (as you can see in the swatches below) and the texture isn’t too creamy but also not dry. The problem I have is that they don’t blend as perfectly as I want them to, but with the right technique and brushes it’s doable. They’re not bad at all, just not the nicest I’ve tried. I prefer Too Faced, Zoeva or KIKO eyeshadows over these. Out of the bunch; the light brown is definitely my favourite since I’ve finally found my perfect contour shade! I tend to mostly use this when travelling (which was why I bought it) and for that I think it’s great, but when I’m home I grab some of my other palettes. The lightest shade I really like as a face highlighter. It’s very intense so I apply it lightly with a fan brush and it looks amazing.
The lipstick has a very thin and watery consistency but covers well with one layer and doesn’t look patchy. It has a traditional dome foot applicator like most liquid lipsticks – nothing special really. It’s definitely long-wearing but you have to watch out so you don’t apply it too thick layer because it might get a bit crumbly and starts to wear off in patches. When you keep it thin that doesn’t happen and it looks perfect the whole day/night!

Would I recommend the products?
I can totally recommend what I’ve tried from Inglot so far. I love that you can pick and choose yourself and put everything together just how you like it and for the price you pay it’s definitely good quality. I don’t know what I like more, they’re all nice things. Nothing is super amazing, what I like most is the possibilities of what you can create with the palettes. Since they have them in all different shapes and sizes you can really play around a lot! My palette costed 9,00€ and then every eyeshadow 8,00€ each. The lipstick was 17,00€. It’s a little bit more up there in price compared to KIKO for example. Even if I prefer the makeup from KIKO, it’s just so much fun to be able to combine products like you can at Inglot. You can make palettes with EVERYTHING. Face products, eyes, lips, cheeks and even fragrances (don’t know how what works though..). At KIKO we at least have palettes for eyeshadow which for a “normal” person should be way more than enough.
